We are currently accepting applications for new residents who would like to join our community. Applications are open and welcome all year round.

With only 133 residents, you’ll find a supportive cohort and college community with spacious rooms, healthy meals, weekly cleaning and unlimited internet.
Selection Criteria

- Individual initiative, achievements or special talents
- Perseverance or persistence in challenging circumstances
- Ability to live as a contributing member of the college community
- Referees’ reports and other relevant recommendations
- Satisfactory interview
Applications
- Our application fee is $5, payable by Mastercard or Visa. This is non-refundable.
- As part of the application process we ask you to provide a recent photograph (in jpg, bmp or gif format).
- Once we receive your application we may contact your referees.
- We will let you know you if you are selected for an interview but we do not interview all applicants, we select those with strong applications and we also select residents who we feel will enhance our diverse college community.
- If you want to be considered starting at a later term than you applied for originally, please email us to let us know.
Interviewing Process
Interviews are either in person at the College or via zoom or phone for international and interstate applicants.

2025 Rates
The fee includes 19 meals a week, unlimited wi-fi, social, cultural and sporting programs as well as academic and well-being support.
- Single rooms with wash basins and shared bathrooms facilities are $540 per week.
- Single rooms with ensuite bathroom facilities are $610 per week.
The Residents’ Society fee is $80 per term and is compulsory. It is used by the elected resident body to provide activities which support an active collegiate community. There is also a one-off registration fee of $135 for every student, and a T1 O-Week fee of $100 for residents beginning in T1.
Casual Stay
Accommodation is available outside the academic year for academic and community groups. Please contact the Shalom College office directly for rates and further information.
Outside the contract dates, residents are able to apply to stay at the College during the Summer break for a daily rate that excludes food and internet services.
